Partial Biographical Profile

Baron Jay Littleton, Founder and President

Baron Jay Littleton founded the Baron Jay Family Foundation in 2004 to give back to disadvantaged communities in ways that can truly make a difference. He is committed to using his business savvy, experience as a motivational speaker, and celebrity image as a positive role model to uplifting disadvantaged youth, especially in urban America and in Africa. Mr. Littleton believes that computer literacy – along with English skills development and financial literacy – are keys to closing the global digital divide.

Baron Jay Littleton is multi-talented businessman and professional entertainer whose priorities in life include service to empower underserved peoples across the globe. He is the author and publisher of a unique series of books celebrating the contributions African Americans and Latinos to American society over the years. These reader-friendly, informative publications are especially inspirational for young readers who may be unaware of the many inventions and accomplishments their culture or ethnic group has made to the United States and even t the world. As a film producer and screen actor, Mr. Littleton has worked both behind and in front of the camera. He has appeared on daytime television and has graced the small screen with numerous guest roles.

With an extensive entrepreneurial background across several industries, Mr. Littleton is a classic example of an entertainment-maven-in-development. He is President and Founder of a financial company, based in Los Angeles, where he is responsible for development and execution of the long-term strategy for expansion and diversification. He also serves in a managerial consultant capacity for corporations in the healthcare and legal industries. Mr. Littleton’s most personally rewarding accomplishment is the recognition he has received as a “Civic Leader.” In addition to promoting reading at various youth educational events, he is a volunteer for Los Angeles based Operation Hope’s “Banking on our Future” financial literacy program for students in grades 4 through 12. He is also a mentor for the national “Children Uniting Nation” program for foster children. In 2009, he was awarded a certificate degree from University of Southern California’s (USC’s) Passing the Mantle (PTM) Clergy and Lay Leadership Institute. The mission of this group is to “provide vision and practical training for the next generation of African American clergy and lay leaders …who are engaged in areas related to civic engagement and community development.”

The Foundation

The Baron Jay Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) federally tax exempt nonprofit organization that was legally incorporated in 2004. We are committed career development, diversity in technology promoting health awareness, relationship guidance, employment preparedness, and financial literacy in economically distressed and underserved communities. We host workshops and programs for at-risk youth that prepare them to become responsible, civic-minded, respectful, and productive citizens. We also sponsor free training programs in computer skills training and English literacy to local communities in underdeveloped regions of the world such as West Central Africa. One of our main goals is to increase digital literacy through computer skill development in poverty stricken communities in both the United States and the developing world. All of our workshops are designed to give our beneficiaries practical life-skills that promote self-esteem, empathy, stress reduction, anger management, academic improvement, and civic leadership.

Vision

Our vision is to become a leader in helping low-income people “at risk” for poverty, despair, and violence overcome these challenges so that they not only uplift themselves, but also lend a helping hand to others.

Mission

The Baron Jay Family Foundation is a global nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life of people in living in underserved communities worldwide. Our mission is to motivate and empower economically disadvantaged individuals — especially youth — to become productive and contributing members of society by providing:

  • Life skills education in healthy habits and harmonious relationships.
  • Culturally enriching experiences that promote self-esteem, good citizenship, leadership qualities, and empathy for others.
  • Extracurricular workshops in job preparedness, computer training, and financial literacy to help reduce the achievement gap and the global digital divide.
